NibbleCal provides nutrition data, calorie estimates, and meal tracking features for general informational purposes only. The Service does not:

- Replace consultation with a registered dietitian, nutritionist, or physician
- Create a professional-client relationship of any kind
TDEE and BMR calculations use the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, which provides population-level estimates. Individual metabolic rates vary based on genetics, medical conditions, medication, and other factors not captured by the formula.
2. AI Accuracy Limitations
NibbleCal uses artificial intelligence (Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, and other AI providers) for food identification, nutritional estimation, and recipe generation. AI systems have inherent limitations:
- Food identification may be incorrect. AI may misidentify foods, confuse similar-looking items, or fail to detect certain ingredients in a photo.
- Calorie and macro estimates are approximate. Actual nutritional values depend on exact quantities, preparation methods, brands, and recipes used, which AI cannot always determine from a photo alone.
- Portion estimation is imprecise. AI-estimated serving sizes from photos may differ significantly from actual amounts consumed.
- Barcode data may be outdated or incomplete. Product information from OpenFoodFacts and other databases is community-contributed and may contain errors or be out of date.
We recommend using NibbleCal's AI features as a starting point and manually verifying important nutritional information, especially for medical or athletic dietary requirements.
3. Allergy & Food Safety Warning
If you have food allergies or intolerances, do not rely solely on NibbleCal to identify allergens.
- AI-generated recipes may contain ingredients that trigger allergic reactions, even if you have set allergy preferences in your profile.
- Photo-based food detection may not identify all ingredients, including hidden allergens (e.g. dairy in sauces, nuts in toppings, gluten in coatings).
- Cross-contamination risks are not assessed by the AI.
- Always read product labels and verify ingredients with the manufacturer if you have severe allergies.
4. Recipe Safety
AI-generated recipes are suggestions that have not been professionally tested. You should:
- Verify cooking temperatures and times for food safety, especially for meat, poultry, seafood, and eggs
- Follow standard food hygiene practices
- Be aware that suggested ingredient combinations may not always produce palatable or safe results
- Use your own judgement when following any recipe
5. Health Data Disclaimer
Nutrition analytics, consistency scores, grades, streaks, and other metrics displayed in NibbleCal are motivational tools, not clinical assessments.
- A high "consistency score" does not mean your diet is nutritionally adequate
- Calorie tracking alone does not capture overall dietary quality
- Weight management involves complex factors beyond calorie balance
- NibbleCal tracks 6 macros (calories, protein, carbs, fat, fibre, sugar) but does not track micronutrients, vitamins, or minerals
6. Third-Party Data & Services
NibbleCal integrates with third-party services that have their own terms and limitations:
- OpenFoodFacts — an open-source product database. Data accuracy depends on community contributions and may vary.
- Spoonacular — recipe and nutrition database. Recipe data is provided by a third party and may contain errors.
- AI providers (Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, ElevenLabs, Deepgram, Mistral) — each operates under their own terms of service and may process data according to their own policies.
We do not control the accuracy, availability, or data practices of third-party services.

NibbleCal is provided "as is" without any warranty of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any specific results will be achieved from its use.
